Terms and Conditions

USE

In order to use the services offered by the My French Pal website, you must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into purchase and sales contracts according to national French law. The use of French conversation services, French administration services and Visits in Paris services is strictly limited to individuals and for personal non-commercial use only.

PRODUCTS and SERVICES

My French Pal offers four services: French conversation sessions, visits in Paris and in Paris inner suburbs, help with the French administration and proofreading of texts written in French. Each service is detailed on the website in the corresponding section under the “Services” menu.

The duration of a French conversation session and of a French administration session is one hour.

The minimum duration of a visit in Paris is one hour. However, for visits/French classes in restaurants, museums or amusement parks, it is recommended to book two consecutive hours.

On the My French Pal website, the transcripts of the podcast « The French Karaoké » can also be purchased. The transcripts of the podcast are available in two areas on the website: in the submenu « Transcripts » (that can be found under the menu « Podcast ») and in the webiste’s Shop.

By visiting and purchasing on the website www.myfrenchpal.fr, you agree that any products purchased from My French Pal will be used solely for personal non-commercial use and will not be re-sold, published, loaned, or shared.

By purchasing on our website, you also agree that the email address you include at checkout of any My French Pal products or services will be used to process and facilitate your order, contact you and share information about My French Pal’s products and services, including via our newsletter (you can unsubscribe to the My French Pal newsletter at any time). By purchasing on the website myfrenchpal.fr and by sharing your personal data, you consent to having your data used by My French Pal for these purposes and for these purposes only. Customer data will never be shared to a third party. To know more about My French Pal personal data use and policy, please refer to the last paragraph of the Terms and Conditions below or refer to our Privacy Policy.

PRICES

The prices displayed on the website myfrenchpal.fr are in euros and inclusive of sales tax at the applicable rate.

The price of a French conversation session for one person is 40 euros VAT inclusive.
The price of a French conversation session for two people is 70 euros VAT inclusive.
The price of a French conversation session for three people is 90 euros VAT inclusive.

The minimum price of a visit in Paris for one person is 40 euros VAT inclusive. This price is the cost of a one-hour visit for one person. The hourly rate is 40 euros VAT inclusive and any additional hour for a one-person visit costs 40 euros VAT inclusive.

The minimum price of a visit in Paris for two people is 70 euros VAT inclusive. This price is the cost of a one-hour visit for two people. Any additional hour for a two-people visit costs 70 euros VAT inclusive.

The minimum price of a visit in Paris for three people is 90 euros VAT inclusive. This price is the cost of a one-hour visit for three people. Any additional hour for a three-people visit costs 90 euros VAT inclusive.

The price of a French administration session for one person is 40 euros VAT inclusive.

The base price for the proofreading service is 25 euros VAT inclusive for 500 words. This price may vary depending on the proofreading deadline required by the customer. A very short deadline will lead to a price increase. Before any proofreading work begins, a quote with the exact price will be sent to the customer. The customer will be free to accept the quote or not.

The price of a podcast transcript is 1 euro VAT inclusive.

PAYMENT

All prices shown on the My French Pal website (www.myfrenchpal.fr) are quoted in euros.

French conversation sessions, Visits in Paris and French administration sessions are to be paid for at the time of booking.

Payment of the French conversation sessions, Visits in Paris and French administration sessions can be made by credit or debit card or by Paypal.

In order to book a French conversation session, a visit in Paris or a French administration session or to purchase a podcast transcript using this Website, you must add it to your Cart and then indicate that you wish to purchase that product by proceeding to the Checkout section of the website and entering the relevant information where instructed. You will be provided with an opportunity to review your order, check the total price of your order and the information you have provided and correct any input errors before confirming your purchase. Finally you will have to confirm that you have read and agree with these Terms and Conditions.

Once you have submitted your order, we will send an email to the email address you have provided acknowledging receipt of your order and setting out details of the ordered product(s).

Please note that reservation of French conversation session, a visit in Paris or a French administration session is effective once the payment is accepted.

For the proofreading services, two payments are to be made. One payment, the down payment, is due after the customer accepts the proofreading quote and upon receiving via email the invoice indicating the down payment.

The second payment is due after the document fully proofread has been transferred to the customer. An invoice indicating the remaining balance will be issued by My French Pal before the due payment. This second payment is to be made upon receiving the final invoice.

Payment for proofreading services can be made by bank transfer or Paypal. Depending on your country of residence or bank, payment by bank transfer may incur extra banking fees, these extra fees are the responsibility of the customer and not the liability of My French Pal.

Please note that proofreading of the documents by My French Pal only begins when the down payment has been sent by the customer and received by My French Pal.

CANCELLATION

In case of impossibility to attend a French conversation session, a visit in Paris or a French conversation session, the customer must notice My French Pal by sending an email to  contact@myfrenchpal.fr at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment.

Payments are not refundable. The scheduled session or visit will be rescheduled to another day directly with the My French Pal attendant.

In case the customer who booked a French conversation session, a visit in Paris or a French conversation session cannot attend the session or visit but did not notice My French Pal by sending an email to  contact@myfrenchpal.fr at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment, payment is not refundable and the session or visit will not be rescheduled to another date.

In case the My French Pal teacher or attendant cannot attend a French conversation session, a visit in Paris or a French conversation session, My French Pal reserves the right to cancel the session or visit. In such instance, the customer will be notified by email and the cancelled sessions or visits will be entirely refunded. The My French Pal teacher or attendant will always do their utmost to avoid such situations and notice the customer of their impossility to come to the scheduled appointment as soon as an impediment forcing them to cancel will occur.

ABSENCE/UNPUNCTUALITY

In case the customer is absent to a scheduled visit or French conversation or administration session and has not notified My French Pal beforehand or in case the customer is late to a scheduled visit or session, payments are not refundable.

If you are late to a scheduled visit or session, please kindly inform My French Pal as soon as possible by sending an email to contact@myfrenchpal.fr.

ETIQUETTE

Out of courtesy for the My French Pal teacher or attendant, customers are kindly encouraged to be on time to their scheduled French conversation sessions, visits in Paris and French administration sessions.

Misconduct towards a My French Pal teacher or attendant is not permitted and may lead to a restriction of access to the services offered via My French Pal.

REQUESTS

My French Pal is committed to reading and carefully examining any request or complant sent by email to contact@myfrenchpal.fr.

Access and use by you of the My French Pal website Reservation of a French conversation session, a visit in Paris or a French conversation session and registration to the My French Pal website in order to use our proofreading constitutes acceptance by you of these Terms and Conditions and Terms of Sale.

PERSONAL DATA

My French Pal commits to protecting your personal privacy and data. In accordance with French data protection law (article 34 of the January 6, 1978 law regarding computer science, files and freedoms), customers have the right to access, modification, rectification or deletion of their data. They can exercise this right by contacting Ms. Christela TCHOKODEU, owner of

My French Pal, by sending an email to contact@myfrenchpal.fr.

Ms. Christela TCHOKODEU will never, under any circumstances, share to a third party the data by customers. They are and will remain confidential. They will be used for the sole purposes of processing orders, providing a more personal website’s customer experience according to the customer’s interests and personalizing communication regarding products and services for Ms. Christela Tchokodeu’s customers, including via the newsletter. Customers can unsubscribe to the My French Pal newsletter at any time.
